Seminar
Invited talk on Broadband Connectivity in 6G - This talk is focused on the road to implementing broadband connectivity in future 6G wireless systems.
6G White Paper on Localization and Sensings - This white paper explores future localization and sensing opportunities for beyond 5G wireless communication systems by identifying key technology enablers and discussing their underlying challenges, implementation issues, and identifying potential solutions. In addition, we present exciting new opportunities for localization and sensing applications, which will disrupt traditional design principles and revolutionize the way we live, interact with our environment, and do business.
Compound and Cascading Hazards in a Changing Climate: Impacts on Electric Power Networks - Prof. Amir Aghakouchak, University of California, Irvine, USA - A combination of climate events may cause significant impacts on the ecosystem and society, although individual events involved may not be severe extremes themselves – a notion known as compound event (eg, drought and heatwaves, rain over burned areas, combined ocean and terrestrial flooding). Improved understanding of compound and cascading hazards can lead to the development of new paradigms, environmental risk assessment methods and decision support systems.
IEEE Technical hybrid seminar at Chalmers by Prof. Stefano Buzzi - IEEE Technical hybrid seminar at Chalmers University of Technology by Prof. Stefano Buzzi upon the invitation of Prof. Tommy Svensson, Head of Wireless Systems Research, Chalmers.
Intelligent Reflection and Absorption - Prof. Lee Swindlehurst, University of California Irvine, USA. - Nearly passive metasurfaces have attracted great interest recently given their ability to tune the RF propagation environment and enhance the capabilities of wireless communication systems. In this talk we will examine these alternative architectures and particularly focus on the advantages of partial absorption at the RIS for scenarios requiring interference mitigation.
